Magnesium sulphate is white or colorless powder, acicular or oblique columnar crystals; it can be divided into industrial grade and agricultural grade according to the application. According to the state, it can be divided into heptahydrate, monohydrate, anhydrous, etc.;
It is unstable in the air, magnesium sulphate heptahydrate is easy to dehydrate in the air, and anhydrous magnesium sulphate is easy to absorb water.
Application of Magnesium Sulphate
1. Industry:
- Used for printing and dyeing cotton cloth, as a weighting agent for cotton and silk; as a filler for kapok products; as a color developing salt for blue dyes;
- As raw materials for fertilizers, porcelain, pigments, matches and fireproof materials, etc.;
- As a medium component in the microbial industry;
- Used as a brewing additive to supplement the magnesium in the brewing water as a nutrient element during fermentation;
- As a filler in the leather industry to enhance heat resistance;
- Used in light industry to produce fresh yeast and monosodium glutamate, and as a stabilizer for calcium hydrogen phosphate in toothpaste production;
- Cement coagulant
2. Agriculture:
- In agriculture, it is an excellent dual-nutrient fertilizer (containing Mg and S). Both sulfur and magnesium are the middle elements of crops, and they are the fifth and sixth major nutrients of crops. They can not only increase crops yield, but also can improve the taste of fruit. Magnesium is a component of chlorophyll and pigment, a metal element in chlorophyll molecules, magnesium can promote photosynthesis,
- In feed additive, as a supplement for magnesium in feed. Promote the formation of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.
